ReXil Agro B.V.

For more than 20 years, Rexil has been the leader in new effective products for humans, animals and plants. Rexil develops biostimulants for plants, animals and humans. Humans, animals, fish and plants benefit significantly from these new revolutionary ‘patented’ biostimulants.

Humans get healthier improving their immunity resistance. Plants and animals grow better and yield more with higher quality, while the use of pesticides and other harmful chemicals can be reduced by at least 50%. Our products are safe and environmentally friendly and have proven effective in all kinds of international research published scientific papers.

ReXil Agro BV specializes in biostimulants for ‘sustainable’ farming methodologies. It has developed a wide range of biostimulants based on silicic acid that supports the organic growth of plants and animals. This results in higher production with better quality. With proven results in tests worldwide, our products contribute to a higher yield, better quality, more taste and longer shelf life.

Although the company was officially founded in 2013, a large part of all research and test periods dates back to the late nineties. This head starts in knowledge, which we have built up from the start, enables us to respond directly to social issues such as reducing the use of chemicals, reducing emissions and making the food chain more sustainable.

Our products are widely applicable for the Agro-sector, Horticulture, Aquaculture, Animal husbandry and Forestry. Within this, we have an extensive product line with targeted developments for fruit, ornamental trees and trees for wood production, cereals such as rice, grain and corn, potatoes, water foods such as salmon and tilapia, shrimps and products for poultry and dairy applications.

We continue to work on innovation in the field of sustainable products and expand our product range to the needs of today. We use nature’s power, and with this, we realize innovative products and techniques. The effect is:

  • Reduction in the need for water, manure, harmful chemicals, antibiotics and pesticides.
  • Better resistance of plants and animals to diseases and pests reduces the use of chemicals.
  • Increase in yield, nutrient quality and storage time.

We also have developed a dietary supplement based on bioavailable silica for human use. A fantastic product that contributes to the process of cell renewal and the strengthening of the immune system. We see this reflected in an improvement in the quality of the bones, hair, nails and skin.

The link between humans and nature…

Dr Henk-Maarten Laane, MD (ReXil R&D director CTO) developed the basic technology of silicic acid. Since the late nineties, he has been researching the biological effects of silicic acid in humans, animals and plants. Dr Laane successfully introduced ‘silicic acid’ as a dietary supplement for people in Europe in 2002. Worldwide, patents follow this in applying silicic acid to plants, trees, fish, birds and other livestock.

Silicic acid is a natural product. It is made in nature by microorganisms. It plays an essential role in the biological functioning of plants and animals from the moment of the emergence of life. By itself, silicic acid is not stable. ReXil Agro BV has developed a ‘patented’ technique to stabilize silicic acid, making silicic acid a product applicable for humans, animals and plants.

Research shows that these organisms became more resilient, and the yield increased. The nutritional value and storage time also improved substantially. Silicic acid can reduce the amount of pesticides and other harmful agrochemicals in plants and antibiotics in animals and fish by more than 50%. This technique became known as SAAT – the Silicic Acid Agro Technology – and this technique is now used all over the world.

Who are our customers today?

The regions where we sell our products range from South America to Asia and the continents in between, such as Africa, Europe and the Middle East. Our clients range from individual farmers to large multinationals and government agencies.

What do our customers find in our products?

We do what we promise. By correct application (using our manual application strictly), in the case of crops, plants and fruit trees, a more robust root system, better resistance to abiotic and biotic stress, more fruit set and a higher nutritional value and longer shelf life. And for fish consumption, this means more body volume, higher protein content and less loss due to diseases. For animal husbandry, this is an improvement in the vitality of the animal but also an increase in milk production in cows and goats with a higher nutritional value.

Sustainability

Due to all social developments, all eyes are on Greentech. The principles behind organic farming and ecological management and resource allocation have become the norm in many farming systems. Using the latest technology and strategy, we strive for greater efficiency and productivity and embrace sustainability. This means more food (food security for a rapidly increasing world population) and less ‘harmful’ for the environment to meet the increasing demand for healthy ‘green organic’ food.

Our speciality (tailor-made products)

We always start from the customer’s demand. They run into a ‘problem’. With our database of knowledge and 20 years of expertise, we can present good advice and tailor-made design of a product with which the farmer or grower is helped to overcome his problem.

How are Rexil production facilities distributed?

Our production facilities are spread over various locations to ensure continuity. In addition, it is essential in the purchasing process that we select raw materials with the same high quality that are checked upon arrival. Productions are always supervised by our quality manager and research & development director. After all, it is about the tricks of the trade. The product is then packaged and shipped all over the world. How do we do our Research and Development? ReXil Agro applies its products at test locations around the world. As a result, we impact many different crops in various climate zones: fruit and ornamental trees, corn, grain and rice fields, vegetables, coffee, tea and cocoa plantations, poultry and milk, meat cows and fish, and shrimp ponds. We test in consultation with governments, local base universities and farmers. Besides climate and geographic variations, we also include cultural and ecological interpretations. Every country and country’s regions are different. Therefore, we tested and adapted our products to the conditions of the local area.

Rexil Group of companies and joint ventures Worldwide.

From our office in Weesp in the Netherlands, we have maintained frequent contact with our colleague teams in Suriname, Turkey, the Middle East, Algeria, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines and Vietnam (Southeast Asia) and joint venture partners in Europe, North America and Australia. By working “lean and mean”, our team reaches far beyond the Weesp building in the Netherlands. We work closely with universities Worldwide when it comes to research. This way, we steadily expand our knowledge, expertise, and insights into applying silicic acid to various crops, climates, and geographic locations.

What is the characteristic of Rexil working method?

Our extensive network and long-term international collaborations with other organizations, companies and research institutes characterize us in making our innovative ideas available to humanity.

What does Rexil still want to achieve in the future (mission and vision)?

Because we value innovation in our journey of discovery to find effective and environmentally friendly products, we will continue to focus on developing sustainable products, techniques and farming systems. In doing so, we will substantially contribute to the growing demand for healthy, organically grown food from the generations of our children and grandchildren. We are currently establishing more patents for innovative green technologies supporting sustainable and circular bioeconomy.

ReXil Highlights

Silicic acid is a naturally formed mineral product. Silicic acid is made from sand and clay by microorganisms living around plants’ roots. Silicic acid consists of one molecule of sand and two molecules of water. Silicic acid is helpful for all life because it has been a part of cell biochemistry for three billion years and is effective in all living organisms. It functions as a biostimulant.
